// HBOX Hermès

Since 28th November the Centre Pompidou in Paris is exhibiting the Hermès project Hbox, created by Didier Fiuza (Portuguese artist and architect) and Benjamin Weil (director of Artists Space, NY).

Hbox is a mobile video space, showing the work of eight video artists, coming from different countries and cultures (each year, four new artists substitute four of the previous); this project sees the video as a moving art through the world, proportioning the reencounter of different publics and concepts.

After Pompidou, Hermès "black box" will be at MUSAC (Léon, Spain) and MUDAM(Luxembourg), as well as in other places of Europe, Asia and America.

Let's hope it will come to Lisbon, too…

// Current artists in exhibition: Alice Anderson, Yael Bartana, Sebastian Diaz Morales, Dora Garcia, Judith Kurtág, Valérie Mréjen, Shahryar Nashat and Su-Mei Tse

//Hedi Slimane

After abandoning the creative direction of Dior Homme, artist/designer Hedi Slimane, linked to androgyn aesthetics and indie-rock culture, comes back to the limelight.
"Perfect Stranger", his new work, is a photography and video exhibition ordered by MUSAC. This artistic and abstract work is the portrait of Slimane's visual passage through the
Benicassim '07 Music Festival.
From 28th November on, "Perfect Stranger" will be at Almine Reach Gallery, in Paris, and in May 2008 it will go to MUSAC, in Spain.
As none of us seems to go to the french capital, here's the exhibition teaser.

// COMBO

// AFOREST-DESIGN + FLORES DE PERDIÇÃO

Sara Lamúrias aka Aforest Design explained the Combo’s concept to us: create temporary installations in various spaces, where it is unusual to observe and consume fashion design. The main goal of this initiative, created by Sara, is to transmit her ideas about fashion and, of course, to show pieces of her collection.
In the “stops” all around Lisbon you can see the clothes, observe the installations and even buy some of the products.
The first stop is the new flowers shop Flores de Perdição, starting today! Check it out, as our national designers deserve both our attention and support!

// CONTROL by Anton Corbijn

After its presentation this weekend at the European Film Festival (which is currently hosted in Estoril), “Control” is arriving today at cinemas in Portugal. The black & white film is about famous Joy Division singer Ian Curtis, who left the planet with the memories of his disturbing attitude on stage.

One of the main reasons to see “Control”, is the way the movie presents his life: not only featuring Joy Division gigs and their way to success, it mainly tells the story of a man, his relationships, failures, his path to glory and his suicide… A human vision of Curtis, showing the real man, not only the myth!

We saw it and we liked it a lot!

// FUZZ

Yesterday, at 9.45 pm, a new show (which was great) has been transmitted at Sic Radical.
We loved it, and so here’s our suggestion.

Following the program editors:
“No, this is not another boring cultural show.”
Fuzz informs you about everything connected with urban lifestyle which doesn’t have the broadcasting in another TV shows; it is like a weekly magazine that keeps you posted about alternative happenings and that establishes a bridge between national and international culture, talking about the cities’ life.
Everything has SubFilmes signature, which was asked to produce FUZZ by SIC Radical;
“Hold your breath, for 25minutes, every week; Fuzz this!”

// TH Inside’s Noise – Listening Pictures

TOMMY HILFIGER goes to Berlin
TH Inside’s Noise – Listening Pictures

10:00 – We arrived to the Office.
10:03 – We opened our mail.
10:03:27 – We were dashed.
10:03:31 – We realized we have just been invited to TH exhibition, in Berlin.
10:03:56 – We got real; we really have to stay in Lisbon.

In the 20th September, Berlin is going to have the international premier of TH, where image, music, art and design touch each other.
As far as we know, “NOISE” is based in the different ways of sound perception, motivating the visitors to experience the image’s sound.
This exhibition is inspired in the suggestive music power, in its evocative capacity (associated, in first place, to the personal choice) and in the way music contributes to our aesthetic choices.

Artists in exhibition: Brandon Lattu, Christian Patterson, Robin Graubard, Slater Bradley, Tim Barber e Olef Wolberger

// From September 20 to October 3, at Falckenstreisse 47/48, Berlin, Germany.

// NIKE 35 years

At September 12, we went to Nike’s “anniversary party”. It was awesome! For its 35 years party, we were told Nike’s life story, through 3 installations, in three different places:

The Running Company: 35 Years of RunningI

NIKE VINTAGE, at Outra face da Lua

(where you can find the Running Vintage collection)

MUD/EIRA at Kolovrat Concept Store

NIKE AT NOOD, at Nood (The Running Footwear Collection).

First we went to Outra Face da Lua; to embody 70’s athletes and vintage spirit, we were given a moustache each, and this moment was caught for good with a Polaroid. (to make it even more perfect, we should have been given a pair of Nike Windrunner each, as well!).
Next on the list was Lidija Kolovrat’s studio, decorated with elements and installations related to Nike`s running spirit. We also have to tell you about Chakall’s catering, which was simply fabulous (pineapple and mint daiquiris, tiramisu, raspberry cream, shrimp…oh la la).
At Nood, they surprised us with Andre Kano’s drawings on the wall. Inspired by Japanese Manga comics, they pictured the stories of some of the most successful Nike sneakers.
We have to say: congratulations!
